Reporting to the Head of IT the new role of Cloud Services Manager will be key to implementing Porterbrook’s Digital Services strategy, supporting both organisational cloud services and wider industry platforms, with a key focus on delivery and continual operation for our customers. Due to the growing adoption of cloud services across the business, this is a key role which will enable the business to maximise the value and benefit of digital services. The role will manage all associated cost management and budgeting for cloud-based services, cloud migration projects, management of suppliers, service catalogue ownership and ensure that our users are supported in using the technology to its full potential. The role will also maintain architecture maps and data flow descriptions for internal and external cloud services. A key deliverable of the role is the day-to-day management of the Azure platform and hosted systems, working closely with our Data Analytics partner and the Digital Services department to manage, support and maintain access for our customers to data and analytics through bespoke cloud services. Reporting and analytics of consumption, expenditure and usage to the Head of IT and Head of Digital Services utilising PowerBI will provide key KPI metrics to strategic and Executive meetings.
The ideal candidate will be an IT professional with a background in Public Cloud IT architectures, PowerBI, processes and applications, ideally on the Azure technology stack. Highly driven with the ability to work in a small team to create effective strategies and execute them efficiently will be key skills. A deep knowledge of data analytics, web technologies and cloud architecture, design and management are all also key for this role. Highly personable, with good levels of commercial acumen you will also be a great team player and able to interface at all levels of the business. We particularly welcome candidates with a background in rail or engineering.
