IT Support Analyst, competitive salary, Derby

Porterbrook specialises in the leasing of all types of railway rolling stock and associated equipment.  Based in Derby with a corporate Head Office in London, the organisation is well underway in delivering a transformational change programme under the leadership of Mary Grant, Chief Executive.  The business is leading the way in fleet innovation, added value services including data and digital solutions whilst ensuring that the fleet assets are managed to deliver the highest levels of performance and reliability for our customers. Core to the success of the business are the support functions including IT. 

Joining an existing IT Support Analyst, this role is accountable for 1st/2nd line support, general user IT assistance and day-to-day management of email queues, nightly backups, support ticket creation and support escalation to 3rd line support.  The user base is around 140 staff, generally based in Derby and London.  Key elements of the role include problem & incident handling, management of user accounts, printing, asset management, deployment & maintenance of laptops/mobiles, guest access and software/patch deployment.  The business has recently implemented the Microsoft 365 suite of products and the role will be accountable for supporting users to maximise the functionality and use of the platform.

The ideal candidate will have foundational understanding of IT, with a personable and confident personality, happy to deal with all levels of the business on a day-to-day basis.  An IT Degree is advantageous along with experience of managing Microsoft environments including cloud services.  Logical thinking and the ability to problem solve quickly, managing a range of issues is essential, along with good communication and organisational skills. We particularly welcome candidates with a background in rail or engineering. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly IT team in an interesting and innovative business.
