Porterbrook Leasing Company specialises in the leasing of all types of railway rolling stock and associated equipment. Based in Derby with a corporate Head Office in London, the organisation is undertaking a period of transformational change as it responds to the changing landscape in rail. The engineering function is seeking the most talented commercial and technical resources in the industry to join its team, to enable the business to be fit for the future.

The key accountability of the role is to manage the portfolio of heavy maintenance projects and contracts ensuring the safe operation of the fleets and to deliver Porterbrook’s lease obligations for heavy maintenance. In addition, the role will ensure that maintenance projects are delivered to time, cost, quality and in line with Porterbrook’s business objectives. This is a critical role within the business ensuring that our assets are properly maintained and managed. The role will require the ability to manage a complex portfolio of maintenance projects across a wide range of fleets.

The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of engineering experience with a strong focus on fleet maintenance. They will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of managing budgets and building strong commercial relationships with both suppliers and customers. The ability to lead teams to deliver quality results is also required along with a strong attention to detail. Project Management skills are also key to the success of this role.
