Lead Fleet Auditor, Derby, Competitive salary and benefits

We are looking for an experienced Fleet Auditor to join the Engineering Audit Manager based at the Head Office in Derby. This is a key role which will provide a highly effective fleet audit service for the extensive fleet owned by Porterbrook and operated by passenger and freight train operating companies across the UK. The main accountability will be the delivery of supplier audits in line with the company’s requirements and to comply with the company’s RISAS (Railway Industry Supplier Approval Scheme) certification. This role will also involve supporting key projects across the business from a QA / Inspection point of view.

The role will involve extensive travel across the UK with the audits being carried out at the train operators’ depots and on supplier sites. In addition, there will be the requirement for a high degree of flexibility to deliver audits in line with business requirements which may change at relatively short notice.

Ideal candidates will be from either a ROSCO, consultancy or train operator and they will have a minimum of at least 5 years fleet audit experience. Highly confident and professional in style, individuals who can manage the resolution of audit issues in a timely and effective manner will fit well with this role. Experience of rail vehicle manufacturing / maintenance quality and in-service routine inspection activities is essential along with being a qualified Lead Auditor within the rail industry. Practical experience in a rail depot or overhaul works environment would also be an advantage. We are particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate a track record in continuous improvement.
